NFL Football almost here!

I'm so excited to say that we have less than a week away from seeing preseason football. I know is exhibition but still thank goodness we have football to watch. I have to say that July is always the worst month for any sport unless you have a great baseball team to watch. With me a Houston Astros fan I literally took up a new hobby for the month of July.... It's called boredum. The season in football looks promising for some entertainment. I predict a crazy race for wild cards in both conferences. With the AFC you pretty much guarantees in division winners for New England, San Diego, maybe Pittsburg and Indianapolis. That leaves with Cleveland, Houston, Jacksonville, Tennesee, and Broncos maybe? fighting for the 2 wild card spots. In the NFC it gets a little more interesting for division champs and wild cards. You have the strong NFC East with defending champs the Giants as well as Dallas and Washington coming off good seasons. Also with the Brett Farve drama in the NFC north that automatically makes us watch that saga of a tale. The NFC South is equally competetive as the east with Carolina, New Orleans, and Tampa competing for the division. Lets see what happens this season but I'm glad that we have a great season ahead of us to talk about.

Finals Men's Wimbeldon

The greatest match ever???

Did you happen to catch the Wimbledon finals over this past weekend? If you missed them, you really royally screwed yourself out of an epic battle between 1 and 2 in the world on the men's draw and a war between 2 sisters the Williams. Ladies first, Venus and younger sister Serena went head to head for the 15Th time in pro tennis. I was a great match between the two but I will say Serena looked a little intimidated by Venus's serve to the body. In a news conference after the match Serena mentioned that she didn't expect that from her sister but now she knows what to expect next time. Do I sense a little bitterness or is it just me. I don't know what's next for the girls but I really hope this rivalry will carry over to the up and coming U.S. Open in late August. Now to the greatest match I've ever seen in my life. I've been involved in tennis since I was 5 years old. (I'm 24 FYI) I've seen Sampras dominate as well as the John McEnroe beating Bjorn Borg at Wimbledon stopping Bjorn's dominant 5 straight Wimbledon's. Don't forget about Andres' great career not retiring until early 30's. This match between Nadal(2) and Federer(1) was a instant classic from start and especially the finish. With the same scenario as John and Bjorn, Nadal snapped Federers' 5 straight Wimbledon title in an absolute marathon of a match. With 3 rain delays the match took over four hours to complete on the court and all day off the court with the three rain delays. Nadal will surely take the number in the world position. He was previously known as the guy that can only win on clay. Well now i see him dominating no matter what surface. Federer was the king of grass of the world but it seems has found his match with Nadal. We will have to wait and see if this will keep up with the two for years to come. Keep in mind Nadal is much younger than Federer so this might not last as long as we like. Federer will turn 27 in early August while Nadal is barely starting his career at 22. That match was awesome I really hope they keep this up for at least a few more years battling with each other.

Mcgrady Gets Hurt

Last night during the Lakers and Rockets game, Mcgrady hurt his elbow one a pick and roll play. Trainers say he'll be out for at least a week. This is not good news for the rockets. Mcgrady was the leagues leading scorer coming into that game. Now the rockets are going to have to get help from the bench. Mike James and Rafer Alston in my oponion have to step their game up now. They both haven't had a good start to the season so it's time for them to prove they can handle the work load that is put upon them. Battier as well hasn't had a good start to the year. What can the rockets do in the meantime while Mcgrady is out. Well they have the spurs On Friday and then the suns the next day. So you can pretty much see what the bench is going to be like for the rockets these next two games.
